JK Tyre received this award for its exceptional efforts in conserving water in the Clean Water and Sanitation area.

At the sixth annual Indian Chamber of Commerce (ICC) Social Impact Awards 2024, held in Kolkata, the Indian tyre manufacturing giant JK Tyre & Industries was honoured for the water conservation efforts that they have undertaken. The judges recognised JK Tyre’s Water Conservation Project as the clear winner in the Clean Water and Sanitation category. The project’s outstanding performance accomplished this. Dr C.V. Ananda Bose, the Honourable Governor of West Bengal, handed over the award to Mr BS Dagar, Head of Internal Relations and Corporate Social Responsibility of JK Tyre & Industries.

To enable local communities to attain water self-sufficiency, JK Tyre has implemented several water conservation projects in the villages adjacent to its production sites. These activities are part of the company’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives. In the past five years, the firm has successfully constructed more than one hundred water conservation buildings, providing additional water sources for the public’s consumption. By implementing improved water conservation practices, these programmes have considerably improved the lives of nearly two hundred thousand people.

Dr Raghupati Singhania, Chairman and Managing Director of JK Tyre & Industries, made the following statement in response to the accomplishment: “Our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives emphasise addressing the needs of marginalised communities, including women, children, and the elderly. This ensures that our efforts have a meaningful impact where it matters the most.” We are pleased to report that the water conservation programmes we have implemented have resulted in significant improvements in the lives of individuals, therefore contributing to the community’s prosperity. This distinction demonstrates our ongoing commitment to using environmentally responsible methods and prioritising the well-being of our community. I want to express my gratitude to the Indian Chamber of Commerce for acknowledging our efforts and confirming that we are heading in the right direction.
